About Us

Sugar Dreams is a family run and family focused business based in Southern Alberta.  We combine a passion and zeal for food with fresh ingredients and we hope to pass that on to our own children and to you. We mix fun with fantasy to make something edible and unique without breaking your bank. We love to make your special events or occasions even more special as we work with you to bring out your fun side in food…whether it is in cake, pastry, blown and sculpted sugar or chocolate.

Colleen has spent years perfecting and expanding her edible art.  She graduated from a recognized culinary arts program and then practiced her craft in restaurants in Waterton National Park.  Since then she has split her time between raising a family of 4 children and helping friends, family and others celebrate many special occasions with edible delights including food.  She’s also a graduate of the Swiss Sugar Sculpting course.

Jay has fostered a home-grown passion for chocolate into an artisan hobby.  As a father first, and a Registered Nurse by trade, he’s spent numerous hours perfecting his craft and researching everything he can learn about the gooey goodness we all love.  He’s also taken training from Technical Advisers with Cacao Barry and Callebaut Chocolate based in Belgium and the Lindt Chocolate Course through the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and the Alberta Pastry Chef Guild.  His real focus is putting an unexpected twist on your chocolate sensations by exploring the savoury flavours that pair unexpectedly with the different types of chocolate – from spice to nice.
